On December 05th a new running event named ‘Gardaland Half Marathon’ will debut on Lake Garda. The southern shore of Italy’s largest and most visited lake is the house of Gardaland, undoubtedly the most famous amusement park in the country, where runners and sport lovers will meet in two months time for a unique event.
The race course (21,097 meters) has been designed through the fabulous park attractions, with the charming scenery of Lake Garda in the background and the funny characters living inside the park who will warmly welcome all the guests with sweets, lollies and chocolates.
The 2010 Gardaland Half Marathon will be running along with the ‘Gardaland Family Run’, a non-competitive event for everybody, taking place through the traffic-free roads located just outside the amusement park. There will be two courses (3 and 8 kilometres), with the start and finish area set as in the competitive race.
The Gardaland Half Marathon is open to FIDAL (Italian Athletic Federation) members and affiliated associations, and foreign Athletics’ Associations affiliated with IAAF. Every participant must provide a copy of their membership card upon registration. Athletes who are not members of any of the aforementioned associations must fill the affidavit of health form available at www.gardalandhalfmarathon.it.
